Pope Creek

Tall, close to six and a half feet. Longish caramel brown hair with dark lowlights. Blue eyes, almost too pale but more green and mossy than icy. If one looks close enough they would realize the pupils are slitted rather than round. Often unshaven. In good shape, well muscled, with strong calves despite the fact that he seems to have a bit of an odd gait.

Pope in his natural form. Often seen later in the day through the night and into dawn. If one catches him in the sun, they might notice that his shadow is wrong. It's bigger than he is, and it shows a malformation to his skull. That of large, rounded rams horns with sharp points.

No one knows for sure where Pope came from, or the legends of the trestle monster. Some think he's a farmer than sold his soul to the devil for years of crops during a drought. Others say he's a boy that was thrown from a circus train that was going over the trestle. No one knows for sure, and many just claim he's an urban legend - something made up and never truly really. He likes it like that. It's always better when everyone thinks he's just a legend. It means those truly looking for him are willing to let themselves be led up onto the trestle without a single thought about how they're going to get down.

The legend is of a massive goat-man that lures people out onto a trestle that many believe is no longer in use. Except it very much is still used by the railway. Once lured out there, the trestle begins to rumble and lights and a horn are racing up behind the victims. As they try and race forward and off the bridge, they find themselves facing a terrifying beast. The choices are simple. Face the train. Face the monster. Go over the edge and hold on. For your life.

Pope is a great guy. He loves to party and celebrate with people. He likes to take hikes through the birch trees in the Fisherville area. He attends some of the cities major parties, talks up everyone, and loves when he can direct the conversation to the legends of the city. The ghost of the Belle of Louisville. The hauntings of the Brown. The Pope Lick Trestle Monster. Some are truly legends, and some are laughing with them. Mostly though he's laughing at them.

On the surface Pope is friendly, gregarious, and playful. He is the life of the party. He never lets others see his true face. Not in the full light. He loves to keep the truth a secret and pretend that he is just a sweet guy who loves to take others for hikes.

He rarely lets his murderous needs show and he hides the anger that can come with them. He is the first one to warn them to stay off the trestle. It's not his fault they don't listen.

• Shapeshifting: By nature Pope is a monster of approximately 8' tall with distinctive goat-like features. Round eyes with slitted pupils, a pronounced animal like nose and a jutting jar. Most pronounced are two ram horns that curl about his head. Years of practice has lent him his human form. He's technically capable of other forms, but it takes practice to get them right with full movement and not seeming stiff or plastic.
• Hypnotic voice: His human voice is soft and rather melodic with a stilted way of speaking that is more textbook sometimes than conversational. When he "turns on" his other voice though, it can draw humans into a dreamlike state where they are often disoriented and often likely to do what he wants, even if it's unsafe or could hurt them.
• Strength & Durability: Due to his shapeshifting, he has above average strength and durability, able to use that to also run faster than the average human.
• Senses: All of his senses are on par with a natural goat. Due to his rectangular pupils, his eyesight is sharper than humans, as well as offering him a wider bit of peripheral vision as well as binocular vision and enhanced night vision. He also has an enhanced sense of smell and taste that allows him to pick up prey as well as worrying about things such as poisons left for him in his natural habitat.
